is suggesting a ban on all guns in america. the second amendment is absolutely part of american culture and people believe in it. however, there are limitations. the amendment talks about a well-regulated militia. people are calling out for taking some of these weapons away from people with potential mental issues. to me, the question for you is this, the last three mass shootings in the last four months in america, aurora, orego in the shopping mall and now here in newtown have involved young people using the same and now here, newtown, all involved young people using the same weapon. an ar-15 semiautomatic rifle all with high capacity magazines. in aurora, over 100 in his magazine which he could fire off. here we saw up to 30. here's the question. why do you feel that americans should have those if your belief is they just have to defend themselves? >> well, before i go any further, piers, first, thanks for having me back. we did have a heated discussion last time and i much appreciate this more calm discussion. second, on behalf of i'm sure i speak for the entire board of mic

prohibition of alcohol. when alcohol was prohibited in america, al capone and the gangsters existed. and all that money went into the underworld. people were being arrested for drinking alcohol. they were being put in prison. the united states realized that was not a sensible option, and the moment they legalized it, the taxes went into health and education. people stopped getting arrested and put in prison. the underworld went away. you know, i think the global drug commission believes that if you take the same approach to say something like marijuana, it's likely to work. what they're saying is that let certain states experiment with it. let's see what happens. we don't believe that, you know, the health issues of the public will be any worse than they currently are, because people could readily get marijuana any way, almost anywhere. >> let's talk about your expertise in space. what is your next big adventure? are you still intent on going to space and leading space tourism? when does that happen? >> i said i wanted to get high, didn't i? >> you want to get high, real high. >> i

, alternative minimum tax was put in place by congress, actually meant for the very wealthy of america, the very wealthy tax filers so that they were not taking full advantage of too many deductions and credits. the problem is there was never indexed for inflation so each year, congress those pass an exemption so therefore it protects middle class families. but it's part of the entire fiscal cliff negotiation, nothing has been passed. so we are looking at maybe 30 million americans, 30 million to 100 americans that could be deeply impacted by the time springtime rolls around. >> what about other tax cities in understand there's three other taxes we could get hit with. what are they? >> talking to steven moore about t you clearly -- the federal income tax, your going to see a -- we are going to revert back to the 2000 tax schedule you so the top tax rate will bounce up to 39.6%. then you look at the dividend tax rate. right now, it's at 15% it can jump as high as 43%. capital gains taxes from 15% up to 20%. so, you could see that the implications, the negative implications just to wall stree

, within reach as america ticks closer to the fiscal cliff at midnight. >> they are close, but they're not there yet. and one thing we can count on with respect to this congress is that if there is even one second left before you have to do what you're supposed to do, they will use that last second. >> duown to the wire. if you thought the fiscal cliff snuck up on congress, the debt ceiling bill that triggered this to begin with was signed into law in 2011. we have known from that day forward this day would be upon us if nothing was done. and everyone in congress has known all along what it would take to avert the blanket tax hikes and spending cuts that are mandated to start in the new year. how much time is that, by the way? 517 days, or you can call it one year, four months and 29 days, or 73 weeks or 12,408 hours. you get the point. your political leader is engrossed in a colossal waste of time. the tax cuts were enacted for ten years starting in 2001 and then extended in 2010 for another two years, so we have had exactly 12 years notice on that front. this should not be happening.
